9.6.5 Cooperation with other human rights institutions

The ICC encourages joint activities and cooperation among national human rights institutions. NHRIs should closely cooperate and share information with statutory institutions established also for the promotion and protection of human rights, for example at the state level or on thematic issues, as well as other organisations, such as NGOs, working in the field of human rights and should demonstrate that this occurs in their application to the ICC Sub-Committee.14

Regional groupings of NHRIs also provide the opportunity for concerted action on important trans-national issues.
